STEPS TO OBTAIN SPANISH NATIONALITY THROUGH THE NEW LAW ON GRANDCHILDREN

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The deadline to apply for Spanish Nationality through the new Law on Grandchildren is 24 months from the 20th of October 2022, i.e. 20/10/24.

WHERE SHOULD I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION?

The application must be submitted at the Spanish Consulate of the city of residence of the interested parties in the corresponding country.

PREPARATION OF THE FILE

We recommend that you engage the services of specialised lawyers and avoid so-called "consultants" who are neither registered nor professionally regulated.

It is essential to submit a perfect and complete dossier to avoid being required for 30 days to correct possible defects. If this happens, your file may be archived and your hopes of becoming Spanish may be dashed.

REGISTRATION OF YOUR FILE

We help you to make an appointment with the corresponding consulate and advise you on the day you have to go to the Spanish Consulate in person.

GRANTING AND FORMALISATION OF NATIONALITY

Once the Spanish Nationality has been granted, we assist you in the process of the Swearing in as well as the inscription in the Civil Registry and the procedure to obtain the Spanish National Identity Card and the corresponding Spanish passport.

SPANISH NATIONALITY FOR MY FAMILY

If you have children, once you have applied for Spanish Nationality, we can start the naturalisation process for them, as some consulates are allowing applications to be submitted depending on the parents' file without theirs having been resolved, which saves a lot of time.
